  1. Just an update...have had personal Citi AA Visa for about a year now, just applied and got the Exec. card with the 60K offer...which I confirmed was indeed valid with 2 separate reps, one a supervisor. So I will spend my $5K in a hearbeat, and post when the 60K miles show up. Anyone else get the 60K recently while holding another personal Citi AA card?

  2. Didn't even think this is a question. Wife applied in summer for a personal Plat card. Got the exec card last month, and 60K bonus posted.

She even had annual fee waived. I'm not gonna reveal how, but I can tell you it can be done (mine was also waived last January, will see if second year gets waived as well). Just use other banks first year free bargaining chips. And also of HUCA's and sMs.

  3. I'm going to use this. I tried 3 times to get this card and they rejected me each time (and they said that they couldn't do things like transfer lines of credit, when what they meant was that they *wouldn't* do a thing like that *for me*), but I got approved for the Platinum AA card. I decided I'll meet the $3k spend as soon as I get the card in the mail (buying $6000 in carpet early next week), and cancel as soon as the 50k Plat bonus posts. Then I'll call to cancel, saying that I felt Citi treated me pretty shabbily. I'm always a better negotiator when I feel I'm right anyway!

Plus this gets the clock started on churning Citi cards in the future. If anyone knows of any shortcomings in my plan or potential pitfalls to avoid, I'm all ears!

  4. Does this credit card work for reciprocal access to the Qantas Club?

I don't want to give up my current AC membership and potentially lose access to Qantas Clubs, which is a standard AC membership benefit.

  5. According to the AA site, it does include partner lounges, though there are some ticketing restrictions. Qantas requires you to be flying on Qantas. Alaska says you must be traveling on an AA marketed and operated flight.

  7. Called first number and she said another dept. needs to determine how much credit I can be approved for. I asked her if that means I am approved. She hinted yes, but said couldn't confirm it.

2nd number, waited 5 mins, saw this post and hung up

3rd number, picked up right away. She said she has to have someone else look at it because she can't approve the executive card and that dept. is really busy. She also hinted that they just need to determine the credit limit number. Need to call back in a couple of hrs to confirm.

FWIW, I have 2 Citi AAs from the 2-browser trick abt 14 mts ago, a Citi AA biz card and a Citi AA Plat for July 2013.

    Good luck to everybody!

EDIT: had to call the long wait number as they seem to be the right guys to approve pending apps. Someone picked up after 20 mins saying they weren't told about this deal and are entirely swarmed with folks calling in. She confirmed it saying she could only approve me for what I thought was a very, very high credit limit! Had to ask her to lower it to 15k.

  8. Just approved for the 100k offer after moving some credit from an existing card. I started with the 866-606-2961 number and after she reviewed my application said I needed to call the 800-695-5171 number because I'm CitiGold client. They still refer to me as Citigold despite downgrading the checking account about 7 months ago. I did wait about 20 minutes but it was worth it.

  9. I'm a bit late to the party, but what's the track record for people getting the 100k even when they aren't targeted? Citi regularly snail-mails me offers for this card, usually in the 30-40k bonus range. I'm pretty sure I'd get accepted: otherwise they've wasted a ton of money on direct mail to my house. Just never seen a particularly high sign-up bonus on this one.

  10. I already have the 50k Citibusiness and the 50k Plat Citi AA personal, but got approved after a quick phone call (before the lines went down completely). I wasn't targeted, and didn't need to put an agent reference in.
