This aircraft was delivered to British Airways on 10th June 1997 and carries a unique registration in the BA 777 fleet. G-RAES was chosen by BA in recognition of the Royal Aeronautical Society. In her 14th year of long haul operations the aircraft is showing her age a little and really needs some interior refurbishments if the airline is to compete with with it's long haul rivals.

Second Business Elite cabin in the Delta 777-200LR this cabin has only 4 rows and is located in the middle cabin of the 777, with Economy Class behind the divider.

The herringbone layout means that if you're traveling with a companion, it's probably easier to sit in two contiguous rows as the seats are actually next to each other and it's easier to communicate, vs being in the two middle seats facing in opposite directions (eg, sitting in 12D and 13D is actually better than sitting in 12C and 12B)

Reconfiguration is complete on one of United's Boeing 767-300 aircraft, which will operate on international routes. Previously, this particular aircraft served only domestic and Hawaiian routes. With all new seats, including new flat-bed seats in the United BusinessFirst cabin, and an upgraded inflight entertainment system throughout the aircraft, the refreshed 767-300 boeing 767 400ER is well-equipped for its new international itineraries.

Reconfiguring United’s 767-300s is part of a $550 million investment in fleet-wide on-board improvements that we announced last year. “We are committed to building an unsurpassed travel experience for our customers,” said Jim Compton, United’s executive vice president and chief revenue officer. “The reconfigured 767-300 is just one more example of how we are redefining air travel by providing our customers more choice, greater comfort and a better value.”

Matmid combine cash with points to upgrade to business

EL AL Matmid frequent flyer club “upgrade” offer which allows club members to combine cash with points to upgrade from economy to business, and business to first. Originally, this was a promotion that was offered periodically but has since become one of the many regular benefits available to EL AL Matmid frequent flyers. EL AL is one of the few airlines in the industry offering its loyal passengers this added value opportunity throughout the year.

EL AL Matmid frequent flyers who travel the most (Top Platinum, Platinum and Gold members) receive a complimentary Economy Class Plus seat when purchasing an economy class ticket. Economy Class Plus is a new class of service offering passengers more legroom, more seat recline and preferred seating in the economy cabin, available for travel as of July 1. A travel companion of a Top Platinum member in economy class also receives a free Economy Class Plus seat. Every other Matmid frequent flyer has the option of exchanging points for one of these seats.
The Matmid Club provides benefits and promotions, is more user friendly than ever, and has no blackout dates. Matmid points can be exchanged for bonus tickets and upgrades. Points can also be combined with cash to obtain a ticket.  EL AL Matmid partners include American Express Membership Rewards®, American Airlines AAdvantage®, a variety of international car and hotel companies, plus many more.
EL AL also offers a special frequent flyer club just for children called “Matmid Kids” whereby children under the age of 12 earn the same number of frequent flyer points as adults even though their roundtrip tickets are already discounted. EL AL also has a pet frequent flyer club.  After traveling three roundtrip flights to Israel within a three-year period, pets earn a free roundtrip flight.

amex matmid conversion rate reduced for ticket or upgrade

EL AL Israel Airlines and American Express have significantly reduced the number of American Express Membership Rewards points that are necessary to exchange for an EL AL bonus ticket or upgrade to Israel. The new exchange rate applies to economy, business, and first class. This reduction in points is effective immediately and is permanent.

From Los Angeles, a roundtrip economy ticket requires 90,000 American Express Rewards points (or 1800 Matmid points). A bonus business class ticket is earned by exchanging 200,000 Membership Rewards points (or 4,000 Matmid points). The reduced exchange rate is also available for first class tickets from Los Angeles.
Matmid Frequent Flyer Club members earn bonus tickets and upgrades to premium classes, priority seat selection, and other exclusive member-only promotions.  They also have the opportunity to enroll for free in the EL AL GlobaLY program, whereby EL AL is donating the equivalent of 5% of earned points to charitable organizations: Taglit/Birthright, The Association for the Wellbeing of Israel’s  Soldiers and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Israel, helping to bring deserving individuals from around the world to Israel.

From New York (JFK/Newark), a roundtrip economy class ticket is now worth 70,000 American Express membership rewards points (equivalent to 1,400 Matmid points). For business class, a roundtrip ticket now requires 150,000 membership rewards points (or 3,000 Matmid points) and the same discount applies to exchanging points for a first class ticket.
To exchange points for an upgrade from economy to business or business to first class, there is also a huge savings that is offered. From New York (JFK/Newark), each one way upgrade requires 35,000 membership rewards points (or 700 Matmid points) and from Los Angeles 38,000 membership rewards or (750 Matmid points) are necessary.
