air france introduces seat plus with more legroom

Air France passengers flying in the Voyageur cabin on long-haul flights can now reserve seats that offer more legroom thanks to their specific position in the cabin*.

A Customer may reserve a Seat Plus for certain Air France long-haul flights when purchasing his ticket online or through his mobile phone, when checking in on the Internet (and as such, when (s)he is issued with a boarding pass), at certain Air France Self-Service Kiosks, or at check-in desks when departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Bordeaux.
A customer traveling on a Flying Blue Award ticket, a group ticket or a ticket purchased from a tour operator can reserve a Seat Plus only when checking in online.

This service has been introduced initially on almost all flights operated by Air France between Paris-CDG and the United States and Canada**. It will be extended across the long-haul network by winter 2008/2009. The number of seats available on each flight*** will vary from four on A330-200s or A340-300s to up to 37 on B747-400s with an upper deck. Once the service is fully operational, the number of Seats Plus offered for sale will represent 3% of all economy seats on Air France's long-haul network.

Please note: among the Seat Plus rows on the upper deck of the Boeing 747-400, only row 65 offers Seat Plus next to the emergency doors.
